La naturopathie, c'est quoi ?
Etymologically the term naturopathy comes from the Latin Naturos and the Greek pathos which means healing by nature or in the sense of nature.
Naturopathy is an unconventional medicine whose primary objective is prevention. It is about health education, that is to say a healthy lifestyle consistent with physiology.
According to the WHO, it is “ancestral Western medicine” in the same way as Chinese medicine in China and Ayurveda in India. It is also an art of living that allows you to take charge of your health and gain independence.
…and health?
Still according to the WHO, it is “ a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and does not consist only of the absence of disease”. Naturopathy is based on this idea: the human being is a whole. To regain health, the physical body, mind, vital energy and social environment must be balanced.
The Naturopath has the role of health educator :
- It explains the functioning of the body, health and its potential disruption.
- It empowers the person in consultation by giving them more autonomy: you are the actor in your well-being.
- It supports the body in its process of returning to balance.
- It adapts to each person to help them regain health.
- It gives you the keys to optimize your daily vitality.
- He is bound by professional secrecy
The Naturopath is not:
- The naturopath does not make a diagnosis or prescription; the lifestyle advice he recommends does not replace medical treatment.
- The naturopath is not a doctor with natural techniques. It is in no way a question of replacing a chemical molecule with a plant or other natural technique.
- Naturopathy is not a medical procedure (article L 4161-1 of the public health code)
Naturopathy is suitable for everyone : young and old, active and retired, men and women, infants and young children, sick and healthy…
We consult a naturopath for prevention: The WHO defined prevention in 1948 as “ all measures aimed at avoiding or reducing the number and severity of illnesses, accidents and disabilities ”
Prevention is the primary objective of naturopathy: taking control of your health and adopting a lifestyle consistent with your physiology allows you to avoid possible physiological disturbances.
There are certain moments in life during which we will need to mobilize our energy and/or restore balance:
- Puberty
- During the major stages of female life: menstruation, fertility, conception, pregnancy, postpartum, pre-menopause, menopause
- Weight gain
- Balanced diet – switching to a specific diet (sporty – vegetarian – vegan, etc.)
- Addictions (sugar, tobacco, etc.)
- Skin problems
- Life changes (job, relationship, moving, retirement)
- Managing stress and anxiety
- Allergies
- Sleep problems
- Physical activity (resumption or competition)
In case of health problems:
Naturopathy also responds to your digestive problems (transit, functional colopathy, irritable intestines, heart gap, bloating, etc.), respiratory, osteo-muscular, circulatory, chronic problems (migraines, sinusitis, bronchitis, inflammations, etc.), hormonal imbalances but also to heavier pathologies (hypothyroidism, insulin resistance, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, IBD, NASH, etc.) in addition to allopathic treatments.
The office specializes in women’s health . In this context, naturopathy will respond to your problems of
- Hormonal dysregulation: thyroid, ovarian (PCOS, amenorrhea, IOP, endometriosis, estrogen-progesterone imbalance, PMS), adrenal,
- cycles,

Under no circumstances do the natural techniques recommended during consultations replace any treatment or medical monitoring whatsoever.
